“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.” Psalm 33:18 NIV
When I feel invisible and cast aside, You see me. When it feels as if no one understands or cares, You see me. Even when I’m at my lowest and I just want to hide from the world and from You, I’m still in Your line of sight.
You see every scar that has ravished my heart. You feel the sting of every wound inflicted on my soul. Even though I’m scarred and bruised, You never turn Your face away from me. You still love me.
When I think of how much You’ve blessed me in spite of my flaws, I can’t help but ask why. Why would You want a relationship with such a mess? I hear You lovingly speak to my heart, encouraging and comforting me. You say, “you are my Beloved. When I see you, I don’t see your past, I see the future I have planned for you. I don’t see filth, I see you cleansed in the blood of My Son, Jesus. I see the person that I created in My image. I could never turn my back on you.
Thank You, Lord, for being the God who truly sees me and always loves me.
“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.'” Genesis 16:13-14 NIV
I woke up this morning with so much anger and frustration. I wanted to cry, scream at the top of my lungs and demand a reason for why I have to be tested this way. I suppressed my urge to have a full blown, adult temper tantrum and remembered that God is good. He has never left my side and there’s certainly no reason for me to believe He will leave me now. I serve a faithful, loving God. I may not understand His ways but I can always count on His love. He has everything under control. I just need to trust Him.
Thank You, Lord, for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for loving me even in the middle of a temper tantrum. Thank You for molding me into a better person and strengthening my faith. Thank You for Your peace and guidance during any kind of storm. I know the One who stands beside me and He is God Almighty.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1 NIV
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Joshua 1:5 NIV
Your Heavenly Father is with you. He sees your struggles. He knows your pain. Even when you hurt so bad that you try to hide from Him and the world, He is still there. Even when you’re angry with Him because you think that He is the source of your pain, He still loves you. He will never leave your side. He never goes back on His promises. There is no where that His arms can’t reach you. He is only a call away, even if it hurts too much to speak, He can hear your thoughts.
Stop leaning on your own understanding and trust Him. Have you forgotten about the last time He delivered you? Remember how He turned what was meant to harm you into something that prospered you. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has an endless supply of comfort and strength. There is no good thing that He will ever withhold from His children.
“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go.” Genesis 28:15 NIV
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” Psalm 139:7 NIV
God is with you. People will oftentimes say this to bring comfort to someone in time of need. However, these are not just mere words of comfort, God really is with you, always.
Yes, He is with you when you’re hurting. He is with you when you’re in danger and He’s with you when you are stressed out. He is with you when the sun is shining and everything is going your way too.
Sometimes, we forget that He’s also with us when we complain, when we gossip, when we judge others without knowing the full story. He’s with us when we’re angry and refuse to forgive. He’s with us when we turn our backs on someone in need. He’s even with us when we’re somewhere we’re not supposed to be, with someone we’re not supposed to be with and doing something we’re not supposed to be doing.
Thankfully, nothing we do ever shocks God. He knows us better than we know ourselves. We also have a merciful God. We are able to come to him to not only comfort us when we’re hurting but to ask for forgiveness and receive His forgiveness through his Son Christ Jesus.
God is with you. He loves you. He doesn’t want you to ever be afraid to come to Him for whatever you need. You are never alone.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NIV
