“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice and hold fast to him.” Deuteronomy 30:19
The world says that you’re not pretty enough. The Word says that you were fearfully and wonderfully created by God. His works are wonderful.
The world says your dreams will never be fulfilled. It says that you should think realistically. The Word says that nothing is impossible with God.
The world says that you’ll never be healed of that terminal illness. The Word says that by Jesus Christ’s stripes you are healed.
The world says that it’s perfectly natural for you to be afraid of the future. You should worry about your life because it’s unpredictable. The Word says that you should be anxious for nothing. God is an ever-present help.
The world says that the economy is bad. It’s impossible to prosper in this climate. The Word says that God will provide for all your needs. There’s no such thing as a depression in the Kingdom of God.
The world says that crime is high and there’s no protection for natural disasters. The Word says that the Lord has commanded his angels to watch over you.
The world says that if someone does you wrong, you should seek retribution. The Word says revenge is the Lord’s. You should love, forgive and pray for your enemies.
The world says that you should hold on tight to everything you have. You should only think of yourself. The Word says to give and be generous. It also says to not store up your treasures on earth but to store up treasures in heaven.
The world says that you are unworthy of love and good things. The Word says that you are a child of the Most High. It says that God loved you so much that he gave his only begotten son just so that you could receive his blessings. How could you possibly be unworthy when your father is God Almighty?
The world will always say things that are contrary to what the Word says, but it’s up to you to decide which one you will put your faith in–the world or the Word of God.
