“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”  John 8:32

The fact is that you’re in the middle of a storm.  It feels like everything is falling apart around you.  It seems like you’re facing an impossible obstacle.  The truth is that, “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there,’ and it will move.  Nothing is impossible for you.”  Matthew 17:20

The fact is you have bills due and your bank account is low.  You need groceries for your family.  Your child’s shoes have had their last walk.  Your clothes are tattered and your car is dying.  The truth is that your heavenly Father knows that you need these things and if you trust in him he will provide.  “Therefore I tell you do not worry about your life.”  Matthew 6:25

The fact is there is a deadly disease ravaging your body.  The doctors say that there is a slim chance that you will survive.  They can try to cut it out or give you medicine to get rid of it but if it works, you’ll never be the same.  The truth is that, “by his wounds you have been healed,”  1 Peter 2:24.  “Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed.  Save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.  Jeremiah 17:14

The fact is you are in a dead-end job.  You feel as if your life has no value.  You feel destined to live a life of mediocrity.  The truth is that God says, “I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

The fact is your mind is in chaos.  You’re confused and unfocused.  You feel like you’re going crazy.  You just can’t get right.  The truth is, “for God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1:7

The fact is you are alone.  You try to call on your friends and family but they’re busy dealing with their own issues.  You feel abandoned and lonely.  It seems like there is no one you can talk to.  The truth is that God says, “I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you.”  Joshua 1:5

The fact is you feel unloved.  You push away anyone who tries to love you because you feel unworthy of love.  It seems like you will never find true love.  The truth is that God says, “yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed.”  Isaiah 54:10

The fact is you’re afraid.  Things have happened to you and around you that has shattered your sense of security.  You fear for your family, your physical safety, your health and your finances.  You read the newspaper or turn on the news and it gives you all the reasons why you should be afraid.  The truth is, “if you make the Most High your dwelling–even the Lord, who is my refuge–then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.  For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”  Psalm 91:9-11

Now, do you want to spend the rest of your life focusing on the facts or the truth of the matter?

“Teach me your way, O Lord and I will walk in your truth.” Psalm 86:11
